Position: Trustee

Period: initial 12 Months

Remuneration: Voluntary position

About the role

Trustees are responsible for the proper administration of the Fair Play Foundation, making sure that its assets and resources are used only for the purposes of the Charity. They are responsible for ensuring that the Fair Play Foundation is run in accordance with its constitution, charity law and all other laws and regulations that affect its activities.

Person Specification

  • Commitment to the organisation and Charity’s aims
  • Understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of
    trusteeship and how this effectively supports the work of the Charity;
  • Share knowledge, experience and expertise and facilitates access to useful
    contacts in other organisations;
  • A strong track record of achievement in the candidate’s chosen field;
  • Strategic vision and ability to think creatively;
  • Good, independent judgement;
  • Confident and impartial communicator;
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team;
  • Knowledge or experience of business and committee procedures;
  • Willing and able to commit time to understanding the Charity beyond Board
    and Board committee meetings including visiting the Charity’s services.

Position: Project Worker (Part Time)

Period: Ongoing as required

Remuneration: £13 – £18 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications

About the Role

The Colours of our Scarves Project run by the Fair Play Foundation is a programme tackling Inequality and prejudice within Scottish sport and Scottish society in general.

We work with a range of stakeholders within Scottish sport to ensure the environment and the way people interact with each other through sport is done in a positive and respectful manor. The project looks to work addressing social ills such as Sectarianism, Homophobia, Sexism, Racism and all other forms of prejudice and discrimination.

Job Outline

The Project worker will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of a sports club based “Equality through Sport” workshops with content specific to sectarianism and other hate behaviours

The work will primarily be with local clubs, on location throughout the west central Scotland however travel national will be required on occasion.

The project worker will play a part in the Colours of our Scarves Project which has now been running for 6 years and delivers across Scotland to 10 centres of higher and Further Education, All of the SFA’s school of Football.

The new exciting role will see the project work expand upon the existing activity, utilising the existing curriculum and for the first time will be able to offer free workshop provisions for local sport’s club staff on location.

Key Tasks

  • Planning and Delivery of the sports club equality programme
  • Assisting at other Colours of our Scarves events
  • Providing input to develop new appropriate content and materials
  • Collection, analysis and reporting of feedback

The successful candidate will need to have

  • A commitment to equality and respect
  • The ability to deliver workshops to large groups of differing ages.
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • An ability to work as part of a team
  • Competence in managing social media output
  • Competence and familiarity with IT software and hardware in relation to presenting
  • An ability to present dynamically and deal with differing opinions
  • The ability to travel and work independently

 Preferable

  • Experience working in the equalities sector
  • An experience working in or around sport facilitation and or coaching

Position: Lead Health and Fitness Coach (Female – Part Time)

Period: Ongoing as required

Remuneration: £18 per hour

About the role

The Fair Play Foundation are currently looking to recruit a number of part time staff who have a background and experience in either coaching, sport development and/or the health and fitness sector to work on our new Active8 activity and wellbeing programme .

The Active8 programme aims to improve physical and mental health of the people in the Forth Valley area though the use of sport and physical activity.

Many adults over the age of 16 in Forth Valley are overweight, which this project aims to play a part in addressing. The ultimate goal is to help improve people’s quality of life through an introduction of enjoyable sports and activities as well as providing a support network of people who are alike to help encourage and motivate them through a 12 week program.

Job Outline

The Female Lead Coach will be responsible for the implementation of delivering an appropriate range of sports and physical activities ensuring that the participants are safe throughout.

Initially this work will primarily be based within Forth Valley College (but not exclusive to that area )

Key Tasks

  • Lead and deliver the sport and physical activity sessions
  • Assist the project coordinator in the planning of project outcomes and delivery methodology
  • Completing necessary health checks of the participants in a timely manner
  • Identifying the participants strengths and weaknesses
  • Advising about health and lifestyle choices
  • Motivating and encouraging the participants
  • Assist in the creation of individualised personal improvement programs for all participants
  • Create a welcoming environment for all participants

The successful candidate will need to have

  • A completed degree level qualification in sport and exercise science
  • Recognised fitness qualification eg. YMCA
  • 1 years coaching and gym instructing experience
  • An enthusiastic, up-beat coaching manner
  • CPR/First Aid Trained
  • The ability to plan and deliver appropriate sessions to different abilities
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Have extensive knowledge regarding health and lifestyle
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 18 years of age

Desirable

  • GP Referral Qualification
